| Changed HostNameLookups back to ON in Apache, after turning them off while tuning performance. When the new Web Statistics are in place, I'll change this back to OFF, since it provides better server performance. | |

| We experienced downtime due to a problem with our network provider. They didn't resolve the issue as promptly as expected. I am investigating other providers. | |

| The new and much improved webalizer log analyzer has been installed. Stats will now display keywords used in search engines to access your site. I am also working on a web-based email client, so you can check your mail through the WWW. | |

| This morning I discovered a hacker tried to compromise the security of our network. All measures have been taken to protect our network from further attacks. Hackers beware, you are being watched. | |

| We have grown! We are in the process of switching to a new, larger block of IP addresses. This transition will happen transparently, with no disruption of service. | |

| Fixed a cosmetic e-mail bug (thanks Jeff) where if you left your "Real Name" blank in your e-mail client, and sent an e-mail, the mail server would use the string "POP account" as your name. Now it will use your e-mail address. | |
October 17, 1998 |
| Fixed a rather serious bug with email authentication and IP logging. You can not send mail through your email server without first checking your mail. Every 15 minutes it expires the IPs, and you must check your mail again before being allowed to use the server to relay mail. This protects you from spammers using your email server as a relay. | |

| Fixed a problem with changing your Virtual Server Control Panel master password. The password is used to log into the VSCP, your ftp account, and checking email for the master POP account. A significant improvement has been made to the statistic logging of web sites. Your stats page will now report referring URLs and browser agents. Cosmetic problems with the Virtual Server Control Panel and Microsoft Internet Explorer have been resolved. |

| Our mail server experienced some e-mail problems between 1:00PM and 3:00PM today. Currently, the Default Drop Box field in your E-mail Virtual Server Control Panel should be blank, in order for e-mail to be correctly routed into the right POP box or forwarding. A fix is coming... | |

| Today the new dedicated server was installed at a facility in northern New Jersey. Domain names are being transferred, and all hosting clients will be on the new server within the next few days. | |
